Last week I purchased a Samsung 360 Gear Camera, I’ve always been interested in Virtual Reality and 360 cameras, and with our upcoming trip to Asia on the horizon, I wanted to get one. For Alfie’s 4th birthday party, we went to Wild Animal Adventures in Stockton. As part of the party, you get to hold Lizards, Snakes, Tortoises and Rabbits! Where better to test out the new 360 cameras than at the party?!
Now, I’m an Apple geek; I have an iPhone, iMac, Macbook Air, iPad and an Apple Watch! Venturing into the Samsung world for the first time was scary, but I battled through! What I didn’t read when purchasing the Samsung 360 Gear Camera, was that they don’t have any IOS software, you can’t download an app for the Macbook or iPhone so you can control or edit the camera, so I was a little stuck! Luckily, a friend of mine has a PC and a Samsung mobile, so I sent over what I filmed, and he turned it into a short video that I have uploaded to our YouTube channel. (Link is above, but you can also click here and watch our first ever 360 camera video)
I can’t wait to capture some amazing footage whilst we are away. I have visions of us stood in front of the Taj Mahal or Angkor Wat, filming in 360 and having the boys running around!
We would love for all of you reading this to come and join in the fun of our travels.
